Salford Literacy Trail – Summer 2022

39 Pictures is really proud to be involved in the Salford Literacy Trail, an initiative to inspire reading across the region.

Our bench, Frozen Kingdom, is on the Bridgewater Canal in Worsley, near the RHS Garden Bridgewater.

The Salford Literacy Trail is a partnership between the Bupa Foundation and the National Literacy Trust, with book benches appearing across Salford from 140th July until 9th September.

Each bench has been co-created by a local school and artist. Ours was designed by Alder Brook Primary Partnership Centre and RP Roberts.

You can download a map and activity brochure from the Salford Literacy Trail website.

39 Pictures helped organisers by filming with pupils at local schools as they designed their benches.

This included working with author and illustrator, Emily Coxhead. She read from her new children’s book, Find Your Happy, which helped inspire children to come up with their design.
